ControlSphere Licensing

ControlSphere is a modular solution which includes Logon, Disk and Data Encryption and Password Manager services. The product uses token-based licensing approach, i.e. each individual token device needs to have a license for specific service of ControlSphere in order to use its functionality. The license is stored on the token device itself and is token-dependent. ControlSphere stores token license data in the Token Image files when making a full backup image of the device. The Token Image can then be used as a licensed copy of the source token. ControlSphere caches token licenses on ControlSphere Internet License Server which enables automatic license recovery should the token lose its license data (e.g. by re-initializing the device).

ControlSphere Token License Manager

The Token License Manager displays a list of licenses stored on a token and allows online license purchase or recovery. ControlSphere will ask to select a list of services to order the license for. Then it will open an embedded Internet browser and navigate to your ControlSphere sales provider, where you will be able to purchase the license by paying with a credit card. Once the payment is complete, ControlSphere will automatically connect to the Internet License Server and register your token on it, generating a new license. Then the license will be automatically stored on your token device (you may need to provide User PIN). Apply or Recover already existing license ControlSphere License Server holds license information for every token, product version and service it generates licenses for. Thus it can automatically recover any existing licenses should they be erased from your token (e.g. by re-initializing the device). Use this function to apply the new license(s) issued by your ControlSphere sales provider or administrator for your token device. ControlSphere will automatically verify the availability of new license(s) for the token and, if the license is available, it will be automatically stored on your token device (you may need to provide User PIN).
